Joseph Hahn (also known as Joe Hahn, Chairman Hahn and Mr. Hahn) was born on March 15, 1977 in Glendale, California.
He graduated high school and then he went to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California
with his fellow Linkin Park bandmate, Mike Shinoda. His intended field of study was illustration but decided to drop
out to pursue a career involving overseeing special effects in television shows and movies such as The X-Files, Sphere and Dune.

He joined Linkin Park in 1997 as the band's DJ. Since then, he has directed music videos for most singles of his band. He has also directed videos for
Static-X ("Cold"),
Story of the Year ("Anthem of our Dying Day")
and Alkaline Trio ("Time To Waste").



Mr Hahn is known for his sarcastic and dry sense of humor during interviews.
He has been known to have a split personality named Remy.
Although this was a joke, fans have taken this seriously. In his solo song "Cure For The Itch" in Hybrid Theory, Remy speaks in the beginning of the song.
The lines are "Folks, we have a very special guest for you tonight, I'd like to introduce Mr.Hahn."

He is busy doing his own side-projects.
Recently, he shot a mini-film called The Seed in Los Angeles and plans to enter it in the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.
He is also working on Kung Fu High School and King Rat, which is an adaptation of the novel by China Mieville.
He recently opened a small clothing store in Los Angeles' fashion district called "Suru". The name of his girlfriend is Karen

After landing on Earth in 1977. Joe Hahn decided to take on the appearance of a Korean living in the mysterious land of America. Here he developed his Kung Fu training, which later proved to be useless in life. He quickly decided to move away from Texas into the hispanic terrains, known as California. In his effort to acclimate to the normal world, he decided to open up a store. Since there were too many liguor stores getting burned down at the time. Joe decided to get into the world of fashion. The name under which is called SURU (named after the galaxy of which he originated). At the new SURU, Joe found delight in indulging in the immaturities of life.
